Hi Morgan I was thinking maybe the Glock 26 like you recommended or the Glock 30 in .45. Have you shot either what do you think all advice is welcome!!

Tyler,

Tyler,

I’ve shot both and both are fine shooters. As you’re aware, the 9mm bullet is not as heavy as the .45. What you may not be aware of is that the 9mm moves faster than the .45. This creates different types of experiences for the shooter. The 9mm Glocks are going to have more ‘snap’ to them as compared to the 45s. This ‘snap’ is the main complaint people have against the .40 S&W Glocks. The ‘snap’ of the .40s is substantial. .45 ACP has been described as more like a push than a punch. There is more recoil, but not as much muzzle rise in the .45s. So there is a harder push, but it happens over a longer period of time.

If you can, go to a range that rents guns so you can try them both out.

Good luck,

Morgan
