Morgan, My glock 17′s trigger pin is not flush with the slide, it is indented a little on the right side,  should I use a hole punch to make it flush on both sides? it is part #28.   Thanks!

Location of the Glock Trigger Pin

George,

The trigger pin is the one pin that cannot work its way out of your Glock.  It is secured by the Slide Stop Lever.  There is a tiny bit of play when properly assembled, but this has no functional impact.  I’ve heard of the other pins working out.  I’ve never seen this first-hand though.  Over-zealous disassembly (perhaps using the wrong-sized pin punch or other ‘tool’ like a ball point pen or screw driver) may enlarge the holes and cause problems.  I personally like to keep the pins even.  Each pin is a little shorter than its channel, so it’s easy to keep everything neat looking.  That said, an uneven pin is not like a loose screw in a revolver, for instance.  A pin can do its job perfectly well being a little uneven.  A loose screw in a metal-framed firearm is a serious issue.

Hope this helps,

Morgan
