I get tons of questions about the availability of GLOCK frames or receivers. Shooters want to buy a Caspian slide or mount their Advantage Arms .22 kit permanently. Well by mid-July for $200.00 you can get one from Lone Wolf Distributors. Here’s the rundown:

If you had the ability to build your own custom Glock frame, this is what it would look like.

The TimberWolf is intended as a direct replacement for your 3rd generation Glock frame or the foundation to build your own custom Glock pistol. It incorporates all of the most desirable features custom builders offer including: a choice of 2 quick change grips, rounded trigger guard, extended beaver tail, round mag catch, improved checkering, higher grip angle and improved rail system. This new, shooter friendly polymer replacement frame works with the following Glock models: G/17, 17L, 22, 24, 31, 34, 35 and 37.

Features:

Must ship to FFL

Timberwolf frame includes, mag catch and two grips.

Round magazine catch provides smoother faster mag changes

Flat grip feels similar to 1911, swelled grip feels similar to Sig.

Multi-Spec rail system fits Weaver or Picatinny accessories

Rounded trigger guard fits all standard Glock holsters

Smallest sculpted grip in the industry

Extended beaver tail eliminates slide bite.

Requires Glock SF Trigger Housing part number GLO-5406.

Frame will ship on, or before, July 14

Hello, my name is Marcus and i’ve recently purchased a glock model 30, I love the gun and the fact that its very reliable. However I have rather short fat hands and was wondering if a 30 sf could be purchased without the slide, or am I going to need to pay someone to stretch my hands out?

Sincerely,

Marcus

Marcus,

Thanks for contacting me. Your question is an old one in the Glock world. Many have found themselves wanting just a frame/receiver for various reasons. They may want a frame for their .22LR kit (www.advantagearms.com). They may have botched a custom re-shaping project. They may have purchased a Caspian (www.caspianarms.com) slide. The unfortunate answer is that Glock does not offer frames alone. The frame is legally considered the gun and it is relatively inexpensive compared to the slide to manufacture. There is no incentive for Glock to offer frames alone.

There is one supplier of metal third-party Glock frames. CCF Raceframes,LLC (www.ccfraceframes.com) makes metal frames for competition shooters. I don’t think they are what you are looking for though.

If you want Glock reliability, you are going to have to buy yourself an SF-model Glock. I am sorry, there is no way around that. If you have the guts, you can dremel off plastic from your existing frame…. but you’ll still end up buying a new gun. Check out ROBAR custom guns (www.robarguns.com) if you have the money to have a pro alter your weapon.

I hope this helps, even though it was not the answer you wanted to hear.

Keep on Glockin’

Morgan
