This is a strange and intriguing video.  It is at once kind of cool in a retro sort of way and extremely ridiculous.  It must be because it was produced in-house by a couple of GLOCK corporate geeks.  It’s hard to believe that PR execs signed off on this unless they are betting that it’s strangeness will set it to go viral.  Which may happen….. (thanks to ENDO for alerting me to this video.)

“Perfection for Professionals?”  Like Tom Cruise wannabees in a “Spy Kids” rip-off?  And I think most any gun will “withstand all extremities,” if you take “extremities” to refer to arms and legs, as it usually does.

There are fake parts in this video and there are real parts.  As far as I can tell, the actor is a real athlete with nerves of steel.  He base jumps and lays under a tank, among other feats.  But the explosions and using the GLOCK as a hammer are really sad forgeries.  Even so, it would have been a thousand times more bitchin if Gunny R. Lee Ermy was the star.

Instead of tarnishing GLOCK’s awesome reputation by releasing bizarre Euro-geek shit like this that makes me feel like GLOCK is about as tuned into its market as I understand flower arrangement and lap dogs, they should hire Freddie Wong to make a really awesome fantasy video like this: (starring Gunny, of course!)

If you’re going to make fake stuff, go all the way Wong-style.  GLOCK is a big company.  Freddie and Brendon work out of a loft in Los Angeles.
